Principal’s Message

From Principal Blake

July 19, 2021

Dear SEAS Families and Students,

I am very humbled and blessed to introduce myself as the new principal of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School Myrtle Beach. It is an honor to join this excellent community! I can assure you that I share in this school's mission and I am here to partner with you and our amazing staff in order to provide  our children with a meaningful and faith filled learning environment each and every day.

I arrive at Seton as a seasoned educator with over 17 years experience, in a variety of roles. I have served as teacher at elementary and secondary grade levels, interventionist, academic coach, School Improvement Specialist, Assistant Principal, Principal, and most recently, and locally, Brave At Home Virtual Program Coordinator Grades 4-8 at St Andrew Catholic School.

Although education fills my cup, I am also a mother of 5. In August, my oldest son Liam joins our community as a 6th grader after attending Holy Trinity last year as a 5th grader. My other 4 children are also blessed to continue their journeys at Holy Trinity Catholic School in North Myrtle Beach. This year, my daughter Rowan, will be in 4th grade. My twin boys Keegan and Quin, will start Kinder and my youngest son, Brennan, in PreK. They make me a better person and motivate me to do what I do every day. I am looking forward to introducing my littlest loved ones to our fabulous community as we share a common passion for Catholic Education.

The possibilities for this great place are endless. I believe in the students and everything the school stands for. My sincerest gratitude goes to Mr. Hanes for the path and opportunities he has created for our learners and their families, now and for years to come. I am so ready to be the next catalyst in this endeavor to make St. Elizabeth Ann Seton the best it can be.

I firmly believe that every child can succeed and that the cooperation between home and school builds trust and self-esteem in students. With my goal of advancing the culture of excellence here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, I am devoted to continually exploring new ideas to meet the needs of all students and to interact with parents and community members more efficiently. We will be meeting as a staff, and with parents and students throughout the year to identify specific goals in all areas in order to make our visions a reality. I will partner with other administrations and lower schools in the area to collaborate throughout the year. Teamwork makes the dream work.

In closing, thank you for trusting me each day with your precious young adults. They are a gift to me and we will ensure they receive the best care each day. I have a vested interest in this school, professionally AND personally. Each child will be seen as an individual and we will work hard to meet each student's needs.

Please look forward to hearing from me on a personal level throughout the first semester. I cannot wait to meet you and learn about each of you and your goals. I can also promise I will love and teach your children each and every day as they deserve to be loved and taught.

"Cheerfulness prepares a glorious mind for all the noblest acts."
