Principal’s Message

From Principal Blake

July 31, 2023

Dear SEAS Families and Students,

I am very humbled and blessed to move into my third year serving as Principal of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School Myrtle Beach. It is an honor to be a part of this vibrant and growing community. I can assure you that I share in this school's mission.  Our future is bright and I look forward to continuing to partner with you, and our talented staff, to provide  our children with a meaningful and faith filled learning environment each and every day.  The addition of an Inaugural President this year is a clear indicator the Diocese of Charleston believes that we have so much growth potential to serve the Grand Strand community as a thriving Catholic Secondary School for years to come.  For all of this, I begin this year with a very grateful and full heart.

My professional experiences include:  teacher at elementary and secondary grade levels, interventionist, academic coach, school improvement specialist/educational consultant, assistant principal, principal, and, locally, a virtual program leader, at St Andrew Catholic School in 2020-2021.

Although education fills my cup, I am also a mother of 5. In August, my oldest son, Liam will be a rising 8th grader, and my daughter, Rowan, an incoming 6th grader, at SEAS. My other 3 boys will attend in a few years. My own children challenge me and make me a better person by motivating me to do what I do every day.  I have a passion for Catholic Education and work hard to provide this gift to as many young adults as I can.

The possibilities for this great place are endless. I believe in the students and everything the school stands for.

It is my philosophy that every child can succeed and that the cooperation between home and school builds trust and self-esteem in students. With my goal of advancing the culture of excellence here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, I am devoted to continually exploring new ideas to meet the needs of all students and to interact with parents and community members more efficiently. We will be meeting as a staff, and with parents and students throughout the year to identify specific goals and strategically plan in the areas of Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, Governance and Leadership, and Operational Vitality, in order to make our visions a reality. I will continue to partner with other administrations and partner schools in the area to collaborate throughout the year. Teamwork will make our dreams work.

Over the 7 years our doors have been open, we have had many great successes in all areas, culminating the 22-23 School Year with our Second Annual Food Truck Festival.  The support of our community is so vital to our progress as a school and we whole-heartedly thank you for a profitable and joyful event.  Our Booster Club remains very active in their second year in existence to support our Athletics Programs.  In a similar way, our PTO continues to lead our volunteers in a variety of efforts to support our overall events and program.

In closing, I appreciate your trust in us to work with your precious children each day. They are a gift and we will ensure they receive the best care and education possible.  Each child will be seen as an individual, we will provide a safe learning environment, and work hard to meet each student's needs.  We will love and teach your children each and every day as they deserve to be loved and taught.
