STREAM Learning

STREAM

STREAM Learning at Seton Catholic is an institution of excellence in classroom learning and community service. Seton celebrates the STREAM initiative (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and service to their community every day in the classroom.

In 2019 Seton Catholic was graciously awarded the Growing in SC Grant. This grant was implemented in 2020-21 as Ceramics and Chemistry classes work together, creating nearly 100 handmade ceramic pieces that will be auctioned off with proceeds going to a Catholic charity.

Seton students receive an exceptional project-based learning experience that develops creativity, innovation, collaboration, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while using information media and technology. They gain knowledge while utilizing life and career characteristics, all of which are world-class skills of a South Carolina Graduate.

Seton students enhance their 21st-century skills and tools that they will need to succeed in the workplace of the future through solving problems, finding and using evidence, partnering and collaborating on projects, and thinking critically. The Catholic faith is intertwined by viewing each activity as an opportunity to work as a team, respect each other, develop new perspectives, and continue the mission of service by helping others to solve problems. Each STREAM activity contains research, investigation, and reflection components, which allow students to consider background information, keep detailed records of observations, and reflect on how the project connects with the real world. We are fortunate to offer a STREAM curriculum to prepare our students with valuable skill sets that will allow them to be successful across a wide variety of interests.
